Few buildings change a skyline. The Independent — 58 stories of stacked, cantilevered volumes — did exactly that, giving Austin a silhouette instantly its own.
The design turns structure into expression: each shift in the massing creates terraces, amenity decks and a cantilevered pool that reach out over the city.
The tower has been honored twice by the Council on Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat with an Award of Excellence, earned an AIA Austin Award of Merit, and was even featured on the Science Channel's Impossible Engineering.
More than a landmark, it reshaped how we work — proving that ambitious, materials-driven design can be delivered at the scale of the skyline.
